At 13:00 you're overthinking the scene where Hammond pricks his finger. This is nothing more than an edutainment moment; Spielberg wrote it to mimic any number of similar rides aimed at kids. It's not suggesting human cloning, or human DNA being used in dinosaurs, it's just the in-universe narrative introducing the idea of DNA to kids who would be watching this at the Park. Hammond is deeply invested in his dinosaur creations being as authentic as possible (which is one of his blind spots, because the mere fact of introducing foreign DNA from amphibious animals makes that impossible from the jump), so he would absolutely not be using human DNA in any of his animals.

My first helicopter ride ended scary for me. I was going to be landed on ship and was dropped down by horse collar to a ship in rough seas. I am not good with heights. What went wrong at Jurassic Park was Parthenogenesis. Sexual reproduction by females without sperm. My next door neighbor worked on the sound for this movie at Skywalker Ranch. His only memory of it was that it was loud.

I was part of the first gen audience to see this movie, and there's a reason why it's a cultural phenomenon. It hit on the inner child of everyone who watched. The movie has been very affectionately panned in the years since for the moments which seem rather campy in hindsight, but at the time, everything about it was groundbreaking, and it hit people's nostalgia buttons for childhood fascination with dinosaurs in a way no other movie has ever matched. The sequence with the first scene of the brachiosaurus is iconic for that reason alone - and the reactions of Ellie and Dr. Grant mirrored the reactions of everyone who saw it for the first time in 1993. Be wary of taking too much of the "facts" they drop. For example, T-Rex's visual acuity based on movement. That was something that Michael Crichton wrote into his book, based off an inaccurate theory. It has since then been retroactively acknowledged for that - a character in his sequel book, The Lost World, impugns Dr. Grant for this claim. I can't recall if any movies address this point or not, but there's a mention in either the book or movie or both that the T-Rex was merely "playing" with its food during the relevant scenes here, and wasn't just somehow "not seeing" its prey because they weren't moving.

The 3rd one is even more incredible.

So the Latin chant throughout the film is "Pie Iesu Domine, dona eis requiem", which typically translates to "Pious Lord Christ, grant us rest", but I think in this context it fits much better as "Pious Lord Christ, give us a break"

Sorry, got to mention the one plot hole that I see in this movie. Why don't they get the version of the DeLorean that Doc Brown buried? Because it's in a different cave right now waiting for Marty to dig it up in 1955. It's been there, what, a few months now, and might have gas in it. If he said it wouldn't work because it doesn't have any gas either, or some other reason, then OK. Or if disturbing it now could break the space-time continuum, but they seem cavalier about that throughout the series.

I love the whole arc Marty goes through in these movies. It takes him 3 movies to figure out things turn to crap when he can't handle someone calling him chicken. "No I'm not chicken, but also not stupid." Once he figured it out, changed his whole life for the better.

Loved it. There is a documentary of interviews of comedians and rock-band members on my DVD which is also hilarious. My other favourite Rock 'n' Roll movies are "Almost Famous" and "Still Crazy", the latter being more of a comedy, while the former is on a bit more serious note, however, given the general ridiculosity of Rock 'n' Roll lifestyle, has a lot of funny moments as well.

They actually went on tour after this movie! I saw them in Seattle for their "Breaks Like The Wind" tour - and it was insane!

Great reaction to one of my favorite movies! It does sadden me a bit that younger reactors don't recognize that pretty much every actor in this film was a big name.

This was never my favorite comedy. These guys and so many more are in A Mighty Wind and Best in Show and they are also really funny movies.

I used to find Mel Brooks funny but not anymore. To me, it's just unfunny, boring, childish garbage. As well as this film, I've tried Young Frankenstein and Blazing Saddles. They have some very funny jokes in them just far too few and the bit in between the jokes is totally crap.

This isnt even Christopher guests best mockumentary. Waiting for Guffman is absolutely the best. It's about a small town putting on a musical with the hopes of getting to Broadway. Other great mockumentaries by hristopher guest are Best in show (about a dog show competition) and A mighty wind (about a folk band starring the same cast from spinal tap), For your consideration, and Mascots

The thing about 'The Originals' and having to change their name is so... accurate. The UK was literally LOUSEY with bands at that time, and they all had very similar ideas. And that's the whole thing about this film - nearly all the things in it *really happened* to someone, at some point. Getting trapped in a pod. The drummer of Toto really did die in a bizarre gardening accident. Black Sabbath are supposed to have ended up with a 45 FOOT high Stonehenge stage prop. Jimi Hendrix choked on *his own* vomit - which is why their drummer possibly choking on someone else's vomit is funny, by the way.

hook, the Bicentennial Man, License to Wed, Patch Adams, FernGully: The Last Rainforest, What Dreams May Come. are some i recomend. the new jumangi movies arent a remake but more a contenueation. i recomend.
